I was working on getting SugarCRM 4.5.1.b up and running on my local development environment the other day (Powerbook 17″ G4), when I found that in order to take advantage of the inbound email capabilities of Sugar, you need to have PHP compiled with the IMAP C libraries.

I found a nice little group of steps to follow on the PHP documentation page.
